ZUZZY Miniatures FAQ

This page provides answers to many of our customers frequently asked questions.

Do your items come painted as we see them in the pictures?

Will you be selling any pre-painted items?

I am the manager/owner of a gaming/hobby store. Do you have dealer terms available for your products?

Is the detail I see on the Terra-Flex gaming mats an actual texture, or is it just an image printed on a flat sheet?

Once painted is it possible to roll the mat up, or will the paint flake off when it is rolled?

I tried to order through your web site, but I got an error message/the order wouldn't go through. How can I fix this?

Do your items come painted as we see them in the pictures?
Both our gaming mats and resin terrain pieces come unpainted. You can paint them using standard acrylic paints. The resin terrain should be coated with primer, then painted with acrylic paint. For the gaming mats we recommend using acrylic paints applied in thin layers using wash, dry-brush and scumbling techniques. Primer should not be used, nor any paint applied in thick layers as it will possibly crack.

Will you be selling any pre-painted items?
Currently we do not have this in our plans. Your vision of a particular item may be wholly different from our original intent and pre-painting the piece might limit that vision for you. Also by making the items as un-painted model kits we can keep the retail price lower for the customer.

I am the manager/owner of a gaming/hobby store. Do you have dealer terms available for your products?
Yes, any retail outlets interested in carrying our products may contact us at sales@zuzzy.com, or through our Contact page.

Is the detail I see on the Terra-Flex gaming mats an actual texture, or is it just an image printed on a flat sheet?
Our Terra-Flex mats are definitely not flat. We have spent many hours sculpting the bass-relief textured boards. Then we made molds of those sculpted boards and each latex rubber gaming mat is cast from those molds. The final result is the most realistic gaming mats on the market today.

Once painted is it possible to roll the mat up, or will the paint flake off when it is rolled?
The Terra-Flex mats are designed to be painted and then rolled and unrolled countless times. Just make sure you use thin washes, dry-brushing and scumbling techniques. And don't use primer or thick layers of paint. If you prime the mat or put the paint on thick it will crack and possibly flake off.

Will you be doing any mats suitable for 6mm or smaller figures?

Although some of our Despoiled Reaches terrain can be used for 6mm, none of our battle mats are usable with that scale. And I doubt we will be producing mats suitable for the 6mm figures any time soon as we have our hands full making them for the 25-32mm figures.
