StoneWorks - Flagston Paven Gaming Mat


 
 
 

 
Ancient, time worn, stones once paved a mighty edifice. Countless footfalls of padded leather, claws and hooves rang upon its rugged face. Iron-shod wheels milled the irregular surface while burning embers and oil scorched its crenelations. Deep beneath, the restless earth stressed its well laid lines from plumb. Yet this Flagston Paven™ still supports many, safely protecting them from outward forces that would shatter and steal away their hopes and dreams.

The Terra-Flex™ Flagston Paven™ Gaming Mat is available in 4ft x 6ft (123cm x 186cm), 4ft x 4ft (123cm x 123cm), 3ft x 3ft (92cm x 92cm), 30in x 30in (76cm x 76cm), 2ft x 4ft (62cm x 123cm), 2ft x 2ft (62cm x 62cm) and 11 x 14 inch (28cm x 35cm) sizes. These flexible battle boards can be spread out on the floor, draped over a small table, laid across your favorite gaming table, or even glued down on a permanent base. Once the game is over the mat can be easily rolled up and stored away in the convenient plastic sleeve that it was originally shipped in, taking up little more room than a folded up umbrella.

All of the details you see on this mat are actual sculpted texture, NOT just a printed image on a flat surface.

Although there is an obvious "grid" on the Flagston Paven, it is not meant to be a precise measuring grid. It is, instead, an irregular and, in places somewhat warped, roughly square tiled stone paving. In a few places the squares are a bit rectangular as well. The size of the squares are slightly oversized, ranging from 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 inch. But, as far as working with any "grid" games, it will work fine as long as you're not fussy about it being precisely 1" or having laser straight lines.


This is a close-up of the unpainted mat straight out of the package. We recommend using acrylic paints applied in thin layers using wash, dry-brush and scumbling techniques. Primer is not necessary. Paint should not be applied in overly thick layers as it could possibly crack.
